Congressman Ed Perlmutter Helps Constituents with Social Security Administration Problem

"One of the most important aspects of serving in Congress is being able to help my constituents who are having problems getting through all the red tape when dealing with the federal government.  My goal is to have the most responsive office possible, and my staff and I are ready to assist you in any way we can.  Below is a story of a casework success," stated Perlmutter.

The constituent pictured above submitted the following testimony:

Recently Congressman Perlmutter assisted me in resolving an issue with the Social Security Administration. I spent more than a year trying to resolve the issue on my own and had no luck. I requested assistance from Congressman Perlmutter as a last resort, really with no hope of ever receiving a reply.  Imagine my surprise when only a week after sending my letter, I was contacted by staff from Congressman Perlmutter’s office.  In less than a month, they resolved my issue, and I received a verbal apology from a representative of the Social Security Administration.  For so long I felt I was only one person in a sea of faceless, voiceless constituents. It is so refreshing to know that Congressman Perlmutter has chosen to listen to his constituency and work to make a difference.
