District Office is First in the Nation Located in a LEED-EB Building with Rooftop Solar Panels

Rep. Ed Perlmutter tours roof and views solar panels at Golden Hill Office Center with RMH Group EmployeesRep. Ed Perlmutter is proud to announce that his District Office resides in a LEED-EB registered building (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Existing Building) with a rooftop 30 kW Photovoltaic (PV) system (solar panels). His District Office is the only one in the nation to be located in a LEED registered building with on-site renewable energy features.

The announcement is part of Perlmutter’s Green Office Initiative, which is an ongoing collaboration between public policy, research institutions and the business community to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.

"I launched my Green Office Initiative last May, and this photovoltaic system builds on that success. I am proud to have the only Congressional office in the country in a LEED registered building with a renewable energy feature on the roof. Everyone must take responsibility to help the environment. The buildings we work and live in require a lot of energy and have a large carbon footprint. Buildings like the Golden Hill Office Centre are a prime example of how promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency also makes good business sense," stated Perlmutter.
